Freehold is a suburban borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. It is the county chair of Monmouth County. Located approximately 35 miles (56 km) from Manhattan and 15 miles (24 km) from Staten Island, the borough has grown to become a bedroom suburb of New York City.
